The Rockets NBA franchise was established in 1967 as the San Diego Rockets. In 1971 after four losing seasons, the basketball team moved to Houston and became the Houston Rockets. Rockets logo have gone through many changes throughout the years. The current logo is a stylized “R” and “H” in the center that looks like a space rocket in the process of taking flight.
