The Cardinals was established in Chicago in 1898 as an amateur football team. Since joining the NFL in 1920, the Cardinals have called three cities home. After 40 seasons in Chicago, they moved to St. Louis in 1960 and Phoenix in 1988. The franchise changed its location name from Phoenix to Arizona on March 17, 1994.
