Houston Astros began in the MLB with the name of the Colt .45s in 1962 and changed their name to the Astros in 1965 when they began playing in the Astrodome. Almost the entire history of the Houston Astros logo is a phased transformation of the word Astros. This continued until the latest logo featuring the first part of the club name.
