Miami Heat joined the NBA in 1988. The Heat logo is one of the most popular NBA team logos, a flaming ball flying into the basketball hoop. The old Miami Heat basketball logo was created in 1988. The new Miami Heat redesigned logo switched the color palette to a darker one and the basketball is drawn in muted red with the yellow ends. The ring became white. The flame of the “T” was also tweaked and went a bit to the right.
