Miami Dolphins Logos, Helmets, & Uniforms History

The Miami Dolphins joined the American Football League (AFL) when they were was awarded an expansion franchise in 1965. In the early 70s, the Dolphins were a successful team, becoming the first team to advance to the Super Bowl for three consecutive seasons. To this date, the Dolphins are the only team to have a perfect season in NFL history. In 1972, Miami won every single regular season game, two playoff games, and Super Bowl VII.

The original logo of the Dolphins featured a leaping dolphin with a helmet bearing the alphabet “M” in the middle of a sunburst. In 2013, the Dolphins completely redesigned the logo with no helmet and the fin up. The new logo was slightly altered in 2018 with classic colors of aqua and orange.

Uniform History

Since 1966, Dolphins uniform has largely the same look. The substantial jersey change came in 2013 with the new logo.
