Washington Nationals Logo History

MLB TEAMS:
Major League movie logos & baseball cards

The Washington Nationals baseball team was founded as the Montreal Expos in 1969. In September 2004, Major League Baseball announced that the franchise was slated for relocation to the District of Columbia. Although former owners tried to appeal the decision, MLB put an end to all lawsuits. On December 3, 2005, other teams approved the Montreal Expos move to Washington DC. The present Nationals logo is minimalistic and modern and uses the legendary “W” borrowed from the Washington Senators.
