Montreal Canadiens Logo History


Les Canadiens de Montreal was founded in Montreal, Quebec, in 1909, predating NHL. The Montreal Canadiens are the oldest continually franchise team in the league. The French spelling of the word Canadiens hinted the team belonged to Montreal’s working class. The Canadiens logo features letters “C” and “H” that stand for “Canadiens” and “Hockey” (Club de Hockey Canadien).
