Baltimore Orioles MLB franchise started as the Milwaukee Brewers in 1894. In 1902, the team moved to St. Louis and changed its team nickname to the Browns. The team moved to Baltimore for the 1954 season and named the team after the Baltimore oriole, the state bird of Maryland.
