Anaheim Ducks NHL franchise was founded by Michael Eisner, the Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, named after the Disney film The Mighty Ducks. The original logo was used in the movie D2: The Mighty Ducks. In 2006, after the team was sold, it was announced the team would be renamed as Anaheim Ducks.
