Philadelphia Flyers joined the NHL as the Second Six team in 1967 to double the league size. The concept of the Flyers logo and the team’s name represented speed. The logo contained four stylized wings attached to a slanted P, which stood for Philadelphia, with an orange dot to symbolize a puck.
