Oklahoma City Thunder Logo History

The franchise was originally established as the Seattle SuperSonics in 1967. The team’s original nickname was named for Seattle’s aerospace industry and usually shortened to “the Sonics”. The team moved to OKC in 2008 and was renamed to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Based on a shield shape, the Oklahoma City Thunder logo features the letters “OKC” over a part of a basketball and the word “Thunder” above it.
